The 2024 Great Cycle Challenge has wrapped. Nearly 21,000 riders from across the country raised more than seven and half million dollars to fund childhood cancer research. The families of those kids that have fought a battle with cancer extend a heartfelt THANK YOU to everyone that supported the event this year!
Personally, this year was my 10th riding in the Great Cycle Challenge. Since it is somewhat of a milestone, I set some lofty goals. In addition to the mileage and fundraising goals that the GCC tracks, I set the two personal goals and
BOTH goals were EXCEEDED.
A huge THANK YOU to everyone who helped me reach those goals. I am filled with great appreciation for each of my donors. The same is true for those that helped spread the word of my fundraising by sharing my riding with their own family, friends and acquaintances. I would have never reached these goals without that assistance.
Do you have the sense the county appears divided? It is not surprising when we constantly see the characterization of states as being either blue or red. However, I have found the Great Cycle Challenge is an example of how individuals can come together for a common good. I wanted to show this “unity” by coloring states orange, a primary color of the GCC. If you see a state is colored orange on this map, it means at least one resident of the state has made a donation supporting my riding in the Great Cycle Challenge this year. Hovering over a state will show the name of the donors.
NOTE: When a donation is made anonymously, I receive no information. Therefore, there is no way to assign them to a state.
